Together with NORKA (Non Resident Keralite's Affairs), the Department is planning frequent seminar for pravasi aspirants (those who are willing to work outside India). The first one day seminar by NORKA together with Pravasi Apostolate for pravasi aspirants was on 12 th December 2015, conducted at S.B. Higher Secondary School Seminar Hall. Second Norka seminar was conducted on January 2016 specially for the Nursing final year students at St.Thomas Chethipuzha Nursing College

The Pravasi Apostolate Department was officially inaugurated on 15th Agust-2015 by Archbishop Mar Joseph Perumthottam at Assumption College indoor stadium on the day of feast of Assumption of Holy Mary, the Patron of Pravasi Apostolate. On the day of inauguration, pravasi families on vacation, parents of pravasis and pravasi returnees participated. The programme began with Holy Qurbana followed by official meeting and lunch and came to an end with self- introduction of each participants. The Archbishop formed an executive body from pravasis and pravasis returnees, which meet on every second Sunday of the month at our Pravasi Apostolate office.

At 4:30 p.m. on 29th July 2015 Archbishop Mar Joseph Perumthottam blessed the Pravasi Apostolate office. Around 15 persons (both pravasis and pravasi returnees) participated during the blessing ceremony. The Department of Pravasi Apostolate arranges occasions for pravasi families from different parts of the world to meet our Archbishop during their vacation and share the pastoral experiences. The Department has planned to publish a Directory of pravasi families with their family photos together with our Archbishop. Pravasi Apostolate has opened different social Medias like WhatsApp, Facebook, Gmail etc., and a website with online family registration. The Department launched an emblem for Pravasi Apostolate. The Department opened an account in Federal Bank at Kurisummoodu branch.
The Pravasi Apostolate
The department, Pravasi Apostolate was constituted by Archbishop Mar Joseph Perumthottam in view of maintaining contact with all our faithful living outside the Archeparchial territorial circumscription and attending their pastoral needs together with social welfare of all pravasis, pravasi returnees and pravasi parents (especially who are aged and severely sick), and formation for the aspirants abroad with the help of Government NORKA (Non Resident Keralite's Affairs).
